SUIT UP, MacLaren's ELT Pub regulars! Today, I will tell you the story of how I became a podcaster. It all started when we were assigned to an ELT class in Instructional Technologies and Material Design. I wanted to make a podcast in the Vox-Pop Podcast genre. I thought it would be fun to choose a podcast genre where people can speak in a question-and-answer format. We asked random students from the RTE Campus of Marmara University, "If you wanted a fictional character to teach your lesson, which character would it be and why did you choose this character?"

Brainstorming was enough to come up with ideas. Since many s.tudents knew English, we did not have much difficulty finding participants or with my natural charm and flawless smile, people were practically lining up to be interviewed.. We chose the most interesting answers for you. The most difficult part was editing the podcast.

If my goal is to give my students a participation-based assignment that will help them practice speaking, I can give the podcast assignment. In addition to providing a different experience, it will replace some activities that we cannot do in class. The disadvantage is that it can be difficult to get everyone to do this task in a class with low-income students. Yeah, there are free apps or copyright-free pieces of music and effects; however, I paid for the CapCut app to complete the task because it has some good features to make a podcast. After all, you can edit sound, use its library, enhance the voice quality.. Next time, I’ll either find a free app or ask Tony Stark to sponsor my class! I came. I recorded. I conquered. And I left behind a podcast so epic, it echoes through the halls of Marmara like a legend in surround sound. Now it’s your turn to do the easy part: sit back, hit play, and enjoy the AWESOMENNES.

I made the podcast with my bro İrem Beyazit. If you are interested, please don't forget to check out her page.
